Kelly Rae Roberts spent her early career as a clinical medical social worker— counselling broken hearts and helping others through the fights of their lives. It was powerful, important work for her but one that made her heart become tired. Until at the age of 30 she started playing with paint.Everything shifted and changed and opened up. A new way of experiencing, translating, sharing & being was born.
Preparation For Things To Come
You see for many years Kelly had helped people and shared her loving and caring ways with others through voice. She communicated to people by talking to them and comforting them. The thing was that underneath all of this, was a desire that she had to spread her words and love to others but in a different format and one that would instantly touch people. Before she used a clipboard, now this had been swapped for a canvas.
To be able to truly connect with people in the way that Kelly wanted she first had to gain hands-on life experience with real people and situations. Her path leads her to her job as a social worker. Day after day she would have spoken to people about their feelings and emotions. She would have listened to them telling her about things in their lives that were causing them hurt and heartache. In return, Kelly would look at ways to help lift their mood, put in place practical advice and direct them in life down a new path of their own, so they to could feel peace, love and worth.
Affirmations are a way to help you in your life. These uplifting words, take us from a place of having no worth to feeling worthy. An affirmation are words or a series of words that you write down. You can work on your own or with someone else. These words are the ones most personal to you and these words will boost your confidence and give you the strength to cope with life. The idea is that each morning you look in the mirror and say them. As each day goes by, you will become to believe what is written down and feel good within you again.
Kelly Rae has taken these words and incorporated them into her art. She paints, sculpts and makes jewellery all are different but all have the same theme, they have uplifting words just for you. Each one of us is different and have different needs. Kelly is aware of this and tries to help everyone.
She also writes books and ebooks as she said “Through it all, I wanted to share what I’d learned by crafting a creative life — how full my heart had become. People listened. The kindness kept building”.
Reap What You Sow
For many of us we do good things in our lives and sometimes bad things happen. The main thing is that throughout it all we still have this trust inside that things will work out. Kelly is a good example of someone who through her life she has given to so many people, her time and caring nature. It would only seem fair that for all her good work she is rewarded with something that makes her happy, but also lets the rest of the world see what a wonderful woman she is and allows her to grow and fulfil her dreams. I have read many things myself and have read that whatever you give out the universe will give back to you. This is true in Kelly’s case.
A truly wonderful and inspiring artist.
